Troopers, Cowboys, and Teddy… OH MY!
Birmingham, AL – October 13/20 2007: Members of the Alabama Garrison and Rebel Legion invaded the McWane Science Center; along with cowboys, Disney princesses, Union soldiers, and one very familiar ex-president – in one of the more unusual events of the year…
It was a “Night at the Museum”, and eager campers were able to actually spend the night at the McWane Center and watch their favorite characters come to life!
Based on the 2006 film starring Ben Stiller and Robin Williams, members of the Garrison (along with our Rebel Legion guests) were able to step out of the ordinary and polish their acting skills – posing as museum mannequins, and then springing to life to the amazement of the children. Both nights were a huge success. Although the 20th was supposed to be a smaller crowd, McWane actually sold out the event with the positive response they received from the previous week’s opening!
