Boba Boogies to ‘Circuit Pop’
Huntsville, AL – August 23, 2007: Garrison members Shawn Hester (TK) and Jamey Ethridge (Fetthunter) trooped an event today with the Alabama Film Co-op in Huntsville.
After suiting up and meeting the class, the co-op had our boys appear in a music video that they were shooting for a local electronica/techno band named “Circuit Pop”. The kids, ages 8 to 15, shot the video with Shawn and Jamey faking the keyboard parts against a white screen.
Special effects will be added-in later.
After the video shoot, it was helmets off, and a 30 minute Q&A session with the kids and instructors ensued. The civilians were instructed about how we make our costumes, and questions were answered about the 501st Legion and the charity work we do.
Following the Q&A, Boba and the Stormtrooper posed for pics with the students and instructors. They were a hit, no doubt! After the photo shoot, our armored heroes headed out into the “artists’ market” area of the co-op to scare the vendors a bit and pose for even MORE pics.
The Garrison made many friends today, and it’s quite likely that we’ll be teaming up with the film co-op again – next time for a possible fan film.
It was a great trooping event! We got to further educate the public about the 501st and the job that we do supporting charities around the world, as well as making more local contacts which will lead to future events for our garrison. This event was a win/win for everyone involved.
